Course Summary

Fit Dog consists of six planned workouts, that include a series of simple, fun exercises, which are designed to improve the bond between you and your Canine Buddy, and help you both get fitter and healthier.

This online course will give you six complete workouts and each workout will be made up of a series videos covering 6 different areas. 1 Warm up, 2 Dog skills 3 Ladder work, 4 Leg work, 5 Core work, 6 Fun Game

Warm up - All good fitness classes start with a warm up and Fit Dog is no exception. Dynamic warm up exercises will get both your dog and you ready for action and reduce any injury risk.

Dog skills - These are general skills or games that will help your dog manage the exercises a little easier. They are also great fun and will help build a between you both. 

Ladder work - Quick feet, speed and agility is the name of the game here. Exercises using agility ladders will really help to improve these aspects of your fitness and your dog's fitness too. 

Core Work - Yes you've got it, fun exercises that work your core muscles as well as your dogs core muscles. These are really fun and will help build a great bond with your dog 

Leg Work - A series of exercises to focus on and build up strength, stamina, coordination and flexability in your legs and also working along side your Canine buddies fitness too. 

Games Zone - The games in this last section of the workout are great fun and will also help you and your dog cool down from the workout.

Course Curriculum

As a PE teacher, Kate has advised that you and your dog work at your own pace, and she also advises anyone with concerns about fitness to seek medical advice prior to starting Fit Dog.
Minimum equipment needed. A few cones or markers, poles or garden canes, sports agility ladder (You can make one of these at home)
 

Kate Lamacraft

Kate : is the head trainer and owner of The Canine Hub. She has gained a range of professional dog training qualifications which include The practical IABTC instructing pet dog owners course, Agility 1st Trainer, Pro Dog Trainer, Pro Dog Geek course, UK Scentwork trainer, UK Snifferdogs Instructor, and an Advanced Canine body language specialist. Kate also holds a canine first aid qualification and human 1st aid certificate.

The Canine Hub had been a dream of Kate for many years, to provide a dog training centre where dogs and owners could come together and learn in a force free, reward based training environment. That dream is now a reality, offering many training opportunities in many activities both on and off line.
Kate has lived with dogs for over 25 year and has been training professionally for 8 years. She competes at agility with her two rescue collie crosses. Roxy (Grade 6) and Gem (Grade 7 ) and a working cocker spaniel,  Skip (Grade 6).
